Who You Are

You are an experienced technical and people leader who is passionate about growing and maturing high-quality, high-velocity engineering teams focused on delivering tangible value to their users. Someone that can both guide and contribute to agile software delivery processes from early conceptualization through to release and beyond for both greenfield functionality and ongoing improvements. You are able to effectively manage the roadmaps, projects, goals and deliverables of your team as well as contribute code yourself to support your team members. Above all, you are a curious, data-driven problem solver who wants to help tackle the new and interesting challenges that we encounter as a growing startup.

Who We Are

Hundreds of engineering teams rely on Scout’s Application Performance Monitoring (APM) product to monitor, diagnose and resolve issues quickly as they endeavor to deliver the best experiences for their users. Our track record and strong support from our customers has allowed us to secure growth funding to innovate and expand our product and make it a leader in the observability and monitoring space. We’re in the process of growing our small but mighty, remote-first team with people like you to make that a reality and have fun along the way.

What You’ll Be Doing

Scout is in the process of growing our existing Application Performance Monitoring (APM) product into a user-centric observability platform based on OpenTelemetry, and you will be a key leader in growing and maturing this new platform and the engineering team behind it. To that end, you will be responsible for the ongoing development of your team and the environment, processes, and procedures needed to support their deliverables. This includes nurturing and scaling a DevOps environment that practices continuous delivery and shared, end-to-end ownership to meet the nonfunctional requirements critical to high-performance software organizations. You will also be responsible for managing project goals and collaborating on product strategy with others across the company. Ultimately, you will share ownership for the ongoing advancement of Scout’s products in a competitive and innovative industry that is constantly evolving. In doing so you will have a significant impact on the Scout platform and our growing base of users.
